Diabetes Education
The Diabetes Education Program will give you the skills, knowledge, and support you need to successfully manage your diabetes.
The program consists of four sessions that are held within a six month time frame. All classes are taught by a Certified Diabetes Educator / Registered Dietitian and a Registered Nurse.
The schedule of initial sessions are listed below. You will be scheduled to attend sessions 2 – 4 at this initial session.
Topics covered include: Medications, blood glucose monitoring, nutrition, exercise, reducing risks of complications, coping with diabetes, and problem solving.
All classes will be held in Conference Room A in the hospital. You are welcome to bring a family member or friend with you. You must have a doctor’s referral to attend the program. If you need help obtaining a referral, we can provide assistance.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is available with a registered dietitian / certified diabetes education.
